Wednesday23 messages6 participantstimes are UTC
Highlights from this day
  • bengaluru_bac — asked for an export of my own lines and got it, a plain text bundle split by day 20:34
  • luerlok — reply quotes survive a redaction, you see the shape of the conversation with a hole in it an edit inside the first minute is silent, after that it marks, which… 20:46
  • nine_nine_one — why is everything in UTC when nearly nobody here is 21:35
  • patent_2026 — the edited marker means the line was changed inside the same day, before the day sealed 22:14
BB

the duplicate timestamps are real, two people typing in the same minute get the same stamp

asked for an export of my own lines and got it, a plain text bundle split by day

quiet channels genuinely have empty days and empty pages dont get published, happy to be corrected

coming back to this gaps look worse in the sourcing channels because of the new year window when suppliers close

how far back can a redaction request go

reply quotes survive a redaction, you see the shape of the conversation with a hole in it
an edit inside the first minute is silent, after that it marks, which catches people out

if you quote a date from here say UTC, the regional channels have had real confusion about it

FN

coming back to this is anyone else seeing a day with two of the same timestamp

BB

exports are one file per channel per day because thats the shape the logger writes

nobody edits a day after it closes except to apply a redaction, thats why the typos are all still there

NN

there were two multi day logging failures, one in 2024 and one in 2025, those days are just gone

NN

an edit inside the first minute is silent, after that it marks, which catches people out

P2

the edited marker means the line was changed inside the same day, before the day sealed

NN

the timestamp confusion is the most asked thing in here and ive answered it every year since 2024

NS

UTC always, no seasonal adjustment, which is why evenings in australia land on the previous date, i could be wrong

P2

there is no window on a redaction request, any published line at any time
