What is here
The archive is a transcript of a chat community, published with the consent of its members. Editorial surfaces — digests, source files, reference pages — are original work by the archivists. We host no laboratory reports, no photographs and no uploaded files: attachments are recorded as a filename and a size and nothing more.
Sending a notice
Write to archive@vialroomarchive.com with the subject line Copyright notice, and include: identification of the work; the exact message anchor or page URL complaining of; your contact details; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised; a statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act; and your physical or electronic signature.
Notices that do not identify a specific URL cannot be acted on. A demand to remove “all references to” a company is not a copyright notice and will be answered as a complaint rather than a takedown.
What we will do
Where a notice is valid we remove or redact the specific material and record that a removal occurred, without naming the requester. Where a notice is a factual dispute dressed as a copyright claim — most commonly a company objecting to an accurate account of a batch result — we will publish a correction if there is an error and decline the takedown if there is not.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was wrong, write to the same address with the subject line Counter-notice, identifying the material and its previous location and stating your good-faith belief that removal was mistaken.
Repeat infringers
Members who post infringing material repeatedly are removed from the room.
