do you get bloods every 5 months or only when something changes

- gall_bladder_gav — get fasting insulin at baseline. you cannot go back and get it once you have started 22:16
- gall_bladder_gav — if you only get one thing, get a fasting insulin. it is the one that becomes impossible later, n of 1 obviously 22:29
- two_four_ceiling — unrelated but what should i get at baseline before i start 22:45
anyone have before and after numbers they are willing to post
get a baseline
what would make you stop and go and see somebody rather than post here
my numbers: a1c and triglycerides both moved a lot, ldl barely moved at all
nice a1c
thats normal
anyone had a result that turned out to be a lab error
retest it
probably dehydration
too early for a1c
get fasting insulin at baseline. you cannot go back and get it once you have started
update from 11 months ago: a1c down, apob unchanged, and i am genuinely annoyed about the apob, take that with a pinch of salt
a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing
alt and ast coming down as you lose liver fat is common and is a good sign
the most useful thing i did was get a full panel before i started. everything since has been comparable
if you only get one thing, get a fasting insulin. it is the one that becomes impossible later, n of 1 obviously
an isolated lipase a bit over range with no symptoms is usually nothing. lipase with severe pain is not
if your glucose is in mg/dL the divisor is 405. if it is mmol/L it is 22.5
fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean
if a result frightens you, that is a conversation with a clinician. we will help you read it, we will not tell you it is fine, still working it out
[edited]homa-ir is fasting glucose times fasting insulin over a constant. the constant differs by unit system
unrelated but what should i get at baseline before i start
baseline 58
wk 2 61
wk 4 64
wk 6 67
wk 8 66
wk 10 65 (held dose from wk 7)nobody here is reading your bloods as a clinician. we are reading them as people who have had a lot of bloods, n of 1 obviously
ferritin and b12 fall quietly when you are barely eating. check them twice a year
a single weird electrolyte is very often a handling artefact. retest before you worry
not a chat question
thats the 90 day thing
see somebody
apob if you can
thats a big move
