comparing two labs and if you only get one thing, get a fasting insulin. it is the one that becomes impossible later

SN

good news i test at baseline, three months, then twice a year, and that has been plenty for me

what did people add to their panel after the first one and wish they had had at baseline

not a doctor, obviously baseline is the one thing you cannot get retrospectively. that is the whole argument for it, ranges differ by lab

FF

privately paid, so baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on, repeat before you conclude anything

SN

if you can only afford one extra marker, i took fasting insulin and i would take it again, paid for that one myself

the honest reason to get a baseline is so that the next result has something to mean something against, fasted twelve hours

follow up on the liver thing i had a liver marker come back high, repeated it three weeks later, and it was completely normal, nobody here is reading your bloods

on the a1c lag thing a small egfr dip is often dehydration. rehydrate and retest before you panic

i printed the baseline and the follow up side by side and the conversation with my GP took four minutes
