  • fasting_insulin — you can carry a personal quantity between eu countries in practice. the rules on quantity and prescription vary and i would not rely on my reading of them 21:40
  • fasting_insulin — unrelated but vat on imports from outside the eu applied from a very low threshold when i last imported, and the carrier handling fee was bigger than the vat 21:49
  • blank_run — handling fee is worse than vat 22:40

ema approval is a licence, not a payment decision. every member state decides reimbursement separately and they do not agree with each other

PS

how do you deal with a supplier whose support is in one language only

follow up a swedish member put their monthly cost at roughly double what a polish member was paying, as of last year

genuine question how does a pharmacy handle it if you have no local insurance at all

GB

i order about six weeks ahead because a customs delay inside the eu still cost me 11 days once

CF

a member reported reimbursement under a national scheme for diabetes and flatly not for weight, and that was the pattern across several countries, not advice obviously

LL

follow up poland came out cheapest of the four countries members compared about eighteen months ago

⚠️2

a german member reported paying around 300 euros a month privately in 2024. one person, one dose, one pharmacy, not advice obviously

write simple english

CF

any figure in this channel should be read as the month somebody typed it, not as the price today

GG

the language thing improved a lot when i stopped using idioms, and that was the actual fix

⚠️1📈11

poland was cheapest

📈2👀9👍6

has anyone crossed a border specifically to buy it
the language thing improved a lot when i stopped using idioms, and that was the actual fix

CF

varies by pharmacy

reported by members, own currency, not comparable directly
  private clinic, UK      145 - 220
  statutory, DE 10 co-pay
  private script, DE      180 - 240
  pharmacy, PL 95 - 140
  pharmacy, SE 210 - 260

nordics are brutal

what does privat versus kassenrezept mean in money terms

VV

my last customs bill was about twenty two percent of declared value plus a fixed handling charge that hurt more than the tax did

sorry to jump in pharmacy prices in germany were fairly uniform when i checked because of how they are regulated. in spain they varied much more

for the archive the language barrier with support is real. i write in short plain english and it works better than good english does

is carrying it in a suitcase inside the eu a problem

nordic pricing genuinely was higher in every comparison i have seen here, and the incomes are higher too, which people forget, i could be wrong

privat means you pay

FI

the honest position is that eu reimbursement is a moving target and nothing said in here stays true for a year, ymmv

ema approval means licensed but not that anyone pays for it, is that the right way round

you can carry a personal quantity between eu countries in practice. the rules on quantity and prescription vary and i would not rely on my reading of them

6

nobody here can tell you what is legal in your country and the mods stop that conversation early

FI

unrelated but vat on imports from outside the eu applied from a very low threshold when i last imported, and the carrier handling fee was bigger than the vat

🧊13❤️17

germany, whats the actual difference in cost between a private and a statutory prescription

that was 2024 pricing

VV

how are people managing when support only speaks one language and it isnt yours

anyone in the netherlands able to say what theyre paying

the cheapest eu route a member found was a local pharmacy with a local prescription, which is no help if you have neither

VV

transit inside the eu was 22 days for me door to door, which is faster than anything i have had from outside it

LL

update from 5 months ago: nothing changed on reimbursement where i am and the price went up anyway

BR

handling fee is worse than vat

as of about a year ago statutory cover in germany for weight indications still was not there, so check before quoting me on it
poland came out cheapest of the four countries members compared about eighteen months ago

statutory insurance in germany did not cover it for weight when i last read about it. for the diabetes indication it was a different conversation

GB

netherlands was reported in here at around 200 euros a month out of pocket a year or so ago, with conditions attached to any reimbursement

GB

genuine question is it reimbursed anywhere in the eu or is it private everywhere

that is the thing people get wrong constantly. approved and paid for are two completely different processes in the eu

BR

anyone had a german pharmacy order it in and how long did that take
