Highlights from this day
  • amber_vial — i order about six weeks ahead because a customs delay inside the eu still cost me 8 days once 15:24
  • karl_fischer — statutory insurance in germany did not cover it for weight when i last read about it. for the diabetes indication it was a different conversation, i think 16:14
  • nordic_price_nils — a prescription from one member state is meant to be recognised in another under the cross border rules. whether the pharmacist knows that is another matter 19:10

Purity check: no report on file for lot F-1330. Nothing logged either way.

in germany the split is privat versus kasse. a private prescription means you pay the pharmacy price yourself and when i checked last year that was a lot

can you legally buy in one eu country and take it to another

[edited]
SA

slightly off topic but i had one pharmacy in another eu country refuse a foreign prescription and one accept it, same month, same paperwork

LL

no local insurance means the pharmacy price, full stop, in every country a member has reported from, for what its worth

LL

the language barrier with support is real. i write in short plain english and it works better than good english does

DE

vat on imports from outside the eu applied from a very low threshold when i last imported, and the carrier handling fee was bigger than the vat

AV

anyone in the netherlands able to say what theyre paying

🙏11🤝11📈12
DE

nobody here can tell you what is legal in your country and the mods stop that conversation early

DE

the cheapest eu route a member found was a local pharmacy with a local prescription, which is no help if you have neither

DE

a german member reported paying around 300 euros a month privately in 2024. one person, one dose, one pharmacy

KF

spain, is it pharmacy only and what does it come to

🧊13🎉6🔥1

parcels entering the eu get assessed at the first point of entry rather than at your own border, which caught me out badly, take that with a pinch of salt

AV

i order about six weeks ahead because a customs delay inside the eu still cost me 8 days once

DE

netherlands was reported in here at around 200 euros a month out of pocket a year or so ago, with conditions attached to any reimbursement

KF

the price for the same dose in two eu countries differed by about forty percent in the one careful comparison i have seen in here

DE

i keep a note of what i paid each month because the number moves and my memory of it does not
ema approval is a licence, not a payment decision. every member state decides reimbursement separately and they do not agree with each other

KF

as of about a year ago statutory cover in germany for weight indications still was not there, so check before quoting me on it

KF

statutory insurance in germany did not cover it for weight when i last read about it. for the diabetes indication it was a different conversation, i think

AV

is vat charged on a parcel coming into the eu and how much are we talking

RR

the honest position is that eu reimbursement is a moving target and nothing said in here stays true for a year

RR

any figure in this channel should be read as the month somebody typed it, not as the price today

german pharmacies will order in what they do not stock. mine took three working days when i asked in 2024

AV

a member reported reimbursement under a national scheme for diabetes and flatly not for weight, and that was the pattern across several countries

SA

update from 9 months ago: nothing changed on reimbursement where i am and the price went up anyway, ill dig out the number

BR

how do you deal with a supplier whose support is in one language only

VV

pharmacy prices in germany were fairly uniform when i checked because of how they are regulated. in spain they varied much more

GG

poland came out cheapest of the four countries members compared about eighteen months ago

NP

a prescription from one member state is meant to be recognised in another under the cross border rules. whether the pharmacist knows that is another matter

⚠️16👍2📉15

is the customs handling fee worse than the vat itself

PS

you can carry a personal quantity between eu countries in practice. the rules on quantity and prescription vary and i would not rely on my reading of them, ill dig out the number

PS

a member in spain said their pharmacy price was lower than germany when they compared in 2024, and i cannot verify that

NP

quick one translate your message and send both versions. that got me answers when english alone had not

SO

crossing a border to buy it happens and people are quiet about it, which tells you how comfortable they are with it, i have it written down somewhere
