coming back to this anyone compared the price for the same dose in two eu countries properly

AP

vat on imports from outside the eu applied from a very low threshold when i last imported, and the carrier handling fee was bigger than the vat

[edited]

handling fee is worse than vat

LT

a member reported reimbursement under a national scheme for diabetes and flatly not for weight, and that was the pattern across several countries

AP

parcels entering the eu get assessed at the first point of entry rather than at your own border, which caught me out badly

AP

as of about a year ago statutory cover in germany for weight indications still was not there, so check before quoting me on it

BR

is the customs handling fee worse than the vat itself

ema approval is a licence, not a payment decision. every member state decides reimbursement separately and they do not agree with each other, not advice obviously

BR

how are people managing when support only speaks one language and it isnt yours

the cheapest eu route a member found was a local pharmacy with a local prescription, which is no help if you have neither

has anyone found a national scheme that actually covers this

prices moved since

a member in spain said their pharmacy price was lower than germany when they compared in 2024, and i cannot verify that

MO

the language thing improved a lot when i stopped using idioms, and that was the actual fix
transit inside the eu was 20 days for me door to door, which is faster than anything i have had from outside it

does a prescription from one eu country work in another

cross border in theory

a prescription from one member state is meant to be recognised in another under the cross border rules. whether the pharmacist knows that is another matter

diabetes yes weight no

GG

in germany the split is privat versus kasse. a private prescription means you pay the pharmacy price yourself and when i checked last year that was a lot, i could be wrong

nordic prices look brutal, is that real or is that just what gets reported

follow up statutory insurance in germany did not cover it for weight when i last read about it. for the diabetes indication it was a different conversation

II

ok so the honest position is that eu reimbursement is a moving target and nothing said in here stays true for a year

GG

germany, whats the actual difference in cost between a private and a statutory prescription

GG

right so coming back after 14 months, has anything changed on reimbursement anywhere

how does a pharmacy handle it if you have no local insurance at all

what does privat versus kassenrezept mean in money terms

AP

i order about six weeks ahead because a customs delay inside the eu still cost me 22 days once

privat means you pay
