- gradient_greg — the calorie floor question is the right one to ask. i would not go under 1200 without somebody keeping an eye on me, happy to be corrected 19:18
- bex_bloods — while im here prep in portions a third of the size you think you need. big containers go in the bin uneaten 19:50
- gradient_greg — at 90kg and 1.6 per kg you are looking at 144 grams. i have never once hit it on a bad appetite week 20:18
- bex_bloods — dexa twice a year if you can afford it. the cheap scale will tell you a new story every day and none of them are true 20:57
- VialBot — Assay note: JEEP lot KP-0925 reported at 96.8% of label content. 21:06
thats too few calories
160 grams a day sounds enormous until you notice a chicken breast is 30 and a shake is 25
eat more please
resistance training is not optional if you care what you look like at the end of this. my opinion, held strongly
dexa if you can
i weigh my protein sources for a week every few months to recalibrate, because the estimates drift badly
meal prep that survives early satiety, what actually works
1.6 grams per kg is the number most of us landed on. at 80kg that is 128 grams a day
bioimpedance is a mood ring
i was wrong about protein for a year. i thought losing my appetite meant i should eat less. it does not
the calorie floor question is the right one to ask. i would not go under 1200 without somebody keeping an eye on me, happy to be corrected
protein first
coffee on an empty stomach with slowed gastric emptying is a rough combination. i eat something first now
how do you hit protein when literally nothing is appealing
i cook normally and freeze it in small pots. the food is unchanged, the portion is the only difference
while im here prep in portions a third of the size you think you need. big containers go in the bin uneaten
greek yoghurt
please dont go lower
creatine has nothing to do with any of this and i still take it. five grams, cheap, well studied
quick one how many grams of protein are people actually hitting at 80kg
at 90kg and 1.6 per kg you are looking at 144 grams. i have never once hit it on a bad appetite week
did anyone get body composition measured before and after
cold food is easier. i eat a lot of things at fridge temperature now and i cannot explain why that helps
[edited]a shake is food
a tin of tuna, a pot of yoghurt and a shake is 60 grams and about four minutes of work
alcohol hits me twice as hard now, has anyone else had that
1.6 per kg
unrelated but greek yoghurt, cottage cheese, whey in milk. that is most of my protein and none of it needs chewing
two proper resistance sessions a week is what the room settled on. three if you can manage it
sarcopenia at my age, is that a real risk if im losing 17 in 21 months
dexa twice a year if you can afford it. the cheap scale will tell you a new story every day and none of them are true
Assay note: JEEP lot KP-0925 reported at 96.8% of label content.
update on the earlier thing is 1.6 grams per kg the number everyone uses or did we make that up
fibre from food first, psyllium if food is not doing it. i went straight to the sachets and regretted it
is cold food easier for anyone else or is that just me
i lift three times a week and my lifts dropped about ten percent while losing, then came back up
front load it
smaller containers
[edited]you will feel weaker while losing. whether you actually are is a different question and only numbers answer it
genuinely, eat more. nobody here will congratulate you for 700 calories and we have all watched somebody get hurt by it
