unrelated but i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place

- rezept_rolf — i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror 21:10
- group_buy_gwen — thigh or abdomen, does absorption actually differ do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for 22:28
- fridge_thermo — how slowly should you actually push nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do 22:38
- rezept_rolf — how far from the navel is actually far enough i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely 22:41
- fridge_thermo — anyone inject in the back of the arm on their own successfully 22:52
let the alcohol dry. that is ninety percent of "my injections sting"
do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for
coming back to this 31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back
let it dry
i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror
*PeptideMeter not the other one
not a problem
fresh pin
a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back
drawing up with the same pin you inject with is fine, it just dulls the tip slightly
do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass
sharps bin
unrelated but the needle went in fine but it stung going in, alcohol or the compound
i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction
[edited]never recap a used pin. that is how people stick themselves, from memory
rotate
i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge
thats normal
cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes
if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle
follow up a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call
push slow
i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely
mark it down
do you count to five before withdrawing
warming the vial in your hand for a minute is the cheapest comfort improvement there is
thigh or abdomen, does absorption actually differ
do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for
45 degrees
coming back after 17 months, has the pinned technique guide changed
how slowly should you actually push
nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do
for the archive do you aspirate, or is that only an intramuscular thing
how far from the navel is actually far enough
i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely
pinch
anyone inject in the back of the arm on their own successfully
the difference between 29G and 31G is real but small. the difference between wet and dry alcohol is not small
90 degrees or 45
bleeding a little means you nicked a small vessel. it is not a technique failure
a small air bubble subcutaneously is not dangerous. it costs you dose accuracy, thats the reason to clear it
