Highlights from this day
  • site_itch — i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction 20:16
  • pinch_not_stretch — push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards, your mileage will differ 21:59
  • abdo_two_inch — i mark the rotation in a notes app because the marks fade and i lost track twice i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror 22:35

if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle, still working it out

90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not
push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards

SI

i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge

update from 25 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped

let it dry

AH

abdomen two inches out from the navel, avoiding anything that has been injected in the last month

is a small air bubble in the barrel a problem subcutaneously
absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

how do you avoid hitting the same spot twice when the marks fade

PN

do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass
