- site_itch — i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction 20:16
- pinch_not_stretch — push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards, your mileage will differ 21:59
- abdo_two_inch — i mark the rotation in a notes app because the marks fade and i lost track twice i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror 22:35
fresh pin
not a problem
sorry to jump in is there any reason to warm the vial in your hand first
warm it first
i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction
if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle, still working it out
90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not
push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards
i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge
31G 8mm
update from 25 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped
push slow
mark it down
[edited]is 31G noticeably better than 29G or is it marginal
let it dry
do you aspirate, or is that only an intramuscular thing
90 degrees or 45
rotate
abdomen two inches out from the navel, avoiding anything that has been injected in the last month
try the thigh
technique probably
push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards, your mileage will differ
31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back
45 degrees
i mark the rotation in a notes app because the marks fade and i lost track twice
i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror
wk1 L abdo upper wk5 L thigh outer
wk2 R abdo upper wk6 R thigh outer
wk3 L abdo lower wk7 L arm back
wk4 R abdo lower wk8 R arm backis a small air bubble in the barrel a problem subcutaneously
absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound
sharps bin
[edited]how do you avoid hitting the same spot twice when the marks fade
do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass
