Highlights from this day
  • amsterdam_aliquot — warming the vial in your hand for a minute is the cheapest comfort improvement there is 22:47
  • maple_maths — ok so push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards 22:49
  • night_pin — cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes 23:21
  • protein_floor — a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back 23:48

coming back to this a small air bubble subcutaneously is not dangerous. it costs you dose accuracy, thats the reason to clear it

i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction

MM

welts at the site are usually a mild local reaction and rotation sorts it

*PeptideMeter not the other one

do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for

i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely

if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle, i have it written down somewhere
bleeding a little means you nicked a small vessel. it is not a technique failure

whats your sharps disposal setup, mine is a jar and i know thats wrong

MM

thats a reaction

update from 8 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped

the needle went in fine but it stung going in, alcohol or the compound

AA

90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not

how many sites are in your rotation

try the thigh

i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place

SS

a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call

CC

absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

NP

is a small air bubble in the barrel a problem subcutaneously

never recap a used pin. that is how people stick themselves
