WW

i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge

pinch

is 31G noticeably better than 29G or is it marginal

CH

do you use the insulin syringe for both drawing and injecting

😂1
WW

absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

CH

warming the vial in your hand for a minute is the cheapest comfort improvement there is
a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call

EM

a small air bubble subcutaneously is not dangerous. it costs you dose accuracy, thats the reason to clear it

coming back to this whats your sharps disposal setup, mine is a jar and i know thats wrong

CC

the difference between 29G and 31G is real but small. the difference between wet and dry alcohol is not small

do you change the pin between drawing up and injecting

WW

a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call

WW

do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass

cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes

push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards

do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for

TT

abdomen two inches out from the navel, avoiding anything that has been injected in the last month

🧊2

i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place

TT

a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back

the needle went in fine but it stung going in, alcohol or the compound

pinch, 45 degrees, count to five, withdraw slowly. two years and almost no bruising

TT

90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not

TT

coming back after 9 months, has the pinned technique guide changed

thats a reaction

welts at the site are usually a mild local reaction and rotation sorts it, thats just me

TT

update from 15 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped, i think

WW

sorry to jump in i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction
