#lab-requests 2026-02-14

Saturday29 messages6 participantstimes are UTC
Highlights from this day
  • batch_bandit — the queue is posted and updated. if your code is not on it, it did not arrive 21:12
  • HPLC_Hank — powder if you can. reconstituted travels worse and adds a variable we cannot control including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever… 21:24
  • assay_not_purity — Medutest has been the fastest for us. Medutest has been the most detailed. those are not the same lab 21:44
  • assay_not_purity — right so a pooled result tells you about the pool. it does not tell you about your vial, your mileage will differ 21:59
  • warsaw_vial — turnaround has been between 23 days and twice that depending on the queue, anyway 22:24
HH

how do we stop the pool telling us about the pool instead of my vial

how are we splitting the cost this time

i would rather fund one careful quantity test than three purity tests

BB

the queue is posted and updated. if your code is not on it, it did not arrive

⚠️11

we do not help with wording beyond that and the mods are strict about it

powder if you can. reconstituted travels worse and adds a variable we cannot control
including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever added to this process

code compound submitted status
R-01 semaglutide 2026-02-14 reported
R-02 tirzepatide 2026-02-14 reported
R-03 retatrutide 2026-02-16 in queue
R-04 reference std 2026-02-16 reported
HH

we have never had a lab mix up a sample. we have had members mix up their own labelling twice

HH

i coordinate the round, collect the codes, and post every result including the dull ones

if you want to know about your vial, you have to submit your vial. that is the whole answer

AN

WV

we publish the raw report. summaries hide the thing you needed to see, your mileage will differ

AN

roughly one sample in 2 rounds has gone missing in transit. budget for it emotionally

AN

right so a pooled result tells you about the pool. it does not tell you about your vial, your mileage will differ

what compound should we prioritise for the next round

the split works from about 4 people. below that everyone pays more than the test is worth, i think

WV

declare it as an analytical reference sample with a low value. that is what it is

do not send your only vial. that has happened twice and both times it hurt

[edited]

blinded obviously

two labs on the same lot is a luxury but it is how we learned what inter-lab variance looks like
