coming back after 5 months of maintenance, is anyone interested in the numbers
#maintenance 2026-02-03
- u100_pat — how long did people stay at treatment dose after hitting goal 21:14
- gradient_greg — the muscle question is the one i wish i had taken seriously at month two instead of month twelve, we shall see 21:20
- related_subs — i weigh weekly at maintenance rather than daily and my range is about two kilos either side 22:05
- spreadsheet_stu — there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have, thats just me 22:16
does anyone lift specifically to hold onto muscle now that theyre maintaining
went back up, no regrets
is maintenance different between semaglutide and the others or is that all anecdote
[edited]update on the earlier thing appetite came back over about three weeks after i reduced, not all at once, which is what i had braced for
i dropped from 5 to 12 for maintenance and held steady for fourteen months
how do you decide youre actually at maintenance rather than just stalled
harder than losing
m0 118.4
m1 113.9
m2 110.2
m3 108.8
m4 108.1 <- the stall
m5 105.0
m6 101.6
m7 99.2i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand
how long did people stay at treatment dose after hitting goal
whats your rule for when a fluctuation becomes a regain
the muscle question is the one i wish i had taken seriously at month two instead of month twelve, we shall see
same as a bp tablet
food noise coming back at a lower dose settled again after about four weeks for me
for the archive the maintenance conversation barely existed in here two years ago and now it is half the channel, happy to be corrected
update from 18 months ago: still at maintenance, still boring, which was always the goal
i came off for four months, put 73 back on, and came back. no drama in it, just numbers
im at goal and nobody has told me what happens next, whats the room doing
right so i think about it the way i think about my blood pressure tablet, and that framing helped me more than anything else
come down slower than that
did anyone regret dropping the dose too fast
On this day 4 years ago this channel logged 15 messages.
unrelated but coming down too fast was my mistake. top rung to the bottom rung inside a month and it was a bad month
protein up not down
update on the earlier thing how much protein were people eating at maintenance compared to while losing
i put 36 back on after stopping and then went back on it. it worked the same the second time round
i tried to come down and could not hold it, went back to treatment dose, and stopped apologising for it
regain is expected
anyone tried every ten days or every fortnight as a maintenance schedule
sorry to jump in i went to every ten days at a low dose and it held for me. n of 1, and i keep saying that out loud
i weigh weekly at maintenance rather than daily and my range is about two kilos either side
whats a realistic amount of regain to accept rather than panic about
thats SURPASS-2
there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have, thats just me
lift twice a week
set a trigger weight
nobody here can tell you whether to stop. we can tell you what happened to us when we did
a 10mg vial at a 2mg maintenance dose is five weeks of doses, so my monthly cost roughly halved
is a maintenance dose a real clinical thing or something we invented between us
mine didnt hold
update on the earlier thing stopped 6 months ago and put 40 back on, what did people do at that point
two or three kilos up and down is normal fluctuation. ten is a different conversation
weekly not daily
still at maintenance
maintenance is harder than losing because there is no number going down to keep you interested
holidays at maintenance are fine, i take the dose on the day and stop thinking about it
no official dose
no data on that
i set a trigger weight instead of a target. if i cross it i go up a rung. that is my entire plan
lower frequency maintenance is genuinely unstudied. anybody telling you it is proven is making that up

m4 108.1 <- the stall

m7 99.2i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
is there any trial data at all on a lower frequency schedule
