i read every twinge as something serious for the first three months and it does settle down
i asked one relative to stop commenting. it was awkward for a week and it was worth it
update from 20 months ago: the flatness lifted, slowly, and i did not have to change anything to make it

im at month 26 and doing well and feel strangely sad about it, is that a thing
