if you are struggling in a way this channel cannot hold, please talk to a professional. we are not a crisis service and we know it

follow up how do you deal with somebody saying you took the easy way

PP

update from 13 months ago: the flatness lifted, slowly, and i did not have to change anything to make it, take that with a pinch of salt

how do you handle a partner who is not pleased about you doing this

KK

you are not a fraud. you took a treatment and it worked. that really is the whole story

CP

nobody in this room thinks less of you for needing a medication. genuinely nobody, not advice obviously

somebody said the easy way thing to me and i just said it was not easy and changed the subject. it worked fine

CP

you are not the only person in here who has felt that, and i say that as somebody who was certain they were

people keep commenting on my body and i hate it, how do you handle that

CP

the plateau nearly ended it for me. what got me through was logging something other than my weight, ill dig out the number

CF

i read every twinge as something serious for the first three months and it does settle down, i think

has anyone found a way to celebrate that isnt about a number

i cook more now than i used to, i just eat less of it, and that compromise saved that part of me

CF

the fraud feeling faded for me somewhere around the point i had kept it off longer than i took to lose it

please talk to somebody

CF

it is a loss as well as a relief and you are allowed to say both of those things, still working it out

glad youre back

CF

my mood dipped around week five and lifted by about week ten. i cannot tell you why either of those happened

II

we are a chat channel. good company, not clinicians, and it matters that we keep saying so

VV

the escalation nerves got smaller each time for me but they never went away entirely

VV

i told my family at month four rather than week one, and the timing is what made it go well
if all you managed today was the dose and some water, that counts and i mean that

hold on if you can. week three is not the whole experience and a lot of us nearly stopped right there

OV

for the archive how do you stop reading every twinge as something serious

NN

i came back at month 26 to say thank you and got a much warmer response than i expected

II

youre not a fraud

NN

flat is the word i used too. not sad exactly, just less colour in things for a while

II

did the flatness lift on its own or did people have to do something about it

i see somebody professionally about the eating side of this and it is the best money i have spent on any of it

quick one i spent twenty years negotiating with myself about food and then the negotiation just stopped, and that took months to sit with, your mileage will differ

CP

update on the earlier thing the dose escalation nerves, does anyone have a routine that helps with them

🙏5🎉6

the shame eased when i stopped thinking of it as a shortcut and started thinking of it as treatment

😂2
PP

how do you tell family youre on this without getting a lecture back

i get anxious the night before a dose increase, so i take it in the morning now and sleep first

📈2
CP

im at month 17 and doing well and feel strangely sad about it, is that a thing

🙏1👀7
DD

im ashamed of needing a medication for this and i cant seem to shake it

the food noise going quiet is the thing people are least prepared for. i sat in the kitchen at 8pm not knowing what i was for

PM

the disorienting bit for me was realising how much of my day had been spent thinking about the next meal

OO

i am kinder to myself now than i was when i was heavier, and that is not because of the number

CP

i built a whole personality around being the one who cooks and now i barely eat, does that pass
