did anyone else grieve food a bit
youre not a fraud
coming back to this i spent twenty years negotiating with myself about food and then the negotiation just stopped, and that took months to sit with
were not clinicians
comments about my body were harder to take than any side effect and nobody warns you about it, from memory
does anyone talk to somebody professionally about this side of it
i am kinder to myself now than i was when i was heavier, and that is not because of the number
somebody said the easy way thing to me and i just said it was not easy and changed the subject. it worked fine
it does lift
grieving food is real. it was my hobby, my comfort and about half of my social life
my mood dipped around week five and lifted by about week ten. i cannot tell you why either of those happened
the running out anxiety is real and worth naming. i keep a spare month in the fridge and i sleep better for it
somebody thanked me a year later for something i barely remember saying, and that is why i still read this every day
youre not alone in that
not the easy way
did the flatness lift on its own or did people have to do something about it
if all you managed today was the dose and some water, that counts and i mean that
that counts
how do you handle a partner who is not pleased about you doing this
does anyone else find compliments make them want to hide
you are not a fraud. you took a treatment and it worked. that really is the whole story, ill dig out the number
the disorienting bit for me was realising how much of my day had been spent thinking about the next meal
i read every twinge as something serious for the first three months and it does settle down
i cook more now than i used to, i just eat less of it, and that compromise saved that part of me
feeling more emotional generally came up for me too and i took that to my gp rather than to a channel
does the quiet in your head ever feel like a loss rather than a relief
the quiet is strange isnt it
has anyone else felt oddly flat since the appetite went
i asked one relative to stop commenting. it was awkward for a week and it was worth it
same at week 5
the shame eased when i stopped thinking of it as a shortcut and started thinking of it as treatment, for what its worth
be kind to yourself
i see somebody professionally about the eating side of this and it is the best money i have spent on any of it
it is a loss as well as a relief and you are allowed to say both of those things
please talk to somebody
for the archive im at month 24 and doing well and feel strangely sad about it, is that a thing
hold on if you can. week three is not the whole experience and a lot of us nearly stopped right there
thinking of you
thats grief honestly
mood dipped hard around week 15, did that lift for anyone
i built a whole personality around being the one who cooks and now i barely eat, does that pass
the escalation nerves got smaller each time for me but they never went away entirely
