if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space

while im here if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

U1

my vial pulled the water in on its own, is that the vacuum or did i do something

NP

label the date too. you will not remember which vial is which by week 26

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot SG-1177. Nothing logged either way.

PP

i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume

NP

i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists

📉1

read it at eye level

⚠️12

how do you all measure a half unit, or do you just not

CO

genuine question coming back after 9 months, has the pinned recon volume advice changed

follow up if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it at a lower concentration

aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler

RS

coming back to this gross powder mass is not net peptide. water and counterion are in that number, i have it written down somewhere

im getting bubbles in the barrel every single time, what am i doing wrong

NP

nobody here should be telling you a dose. we can check your arithmetic, thats a different thing

write the date on

RS

swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back

update from 6 months ago: switched to a single concentration and have not miscalculated since

it should be completely clear with no floaters. cloudy means stop

5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose

AA

lyophilised powder is far more robust than people think. it is the solution that is fragile, not advice obviously

thats the vacuum

👀23

what do you do with the last 8 units when you cant draw them cleanly

RS

whats the smallest volume you would trust yourself to measure on a u100

ST

one unit is 0.01ml. 100 units is 1ml. everything else in this channel follows from that

NP

the jewellery scale is a good habit but calibrate it, they drift badly

ST

quick one bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all

clear or bin it

NP

follow up sanity check my maths before i pin myself with something stupid

RT

i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in
