is it worth buying a 3ml syringe for the diluent or is the insulin one fine

- perth_pin — dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month 12:58
- perth_pin — bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it… 14:14
- cold_chain_cmdr — my 10mg vial weighed 11.4g on the jewellery scale, is that wrong 14:28
gross powder mass is not net peptide. water and counterion are in that number, ill dig out the number
dead space
im getting bubbles in the barrel every single time, what am i doing wrong
my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am
label the vial
aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler, anyway
dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month
sanity check my maths before i pin myself with something stupid
how much do i lose to dead space with a 29G pin
does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder
bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all
if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it at a lower concentration
coming back to this a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not
if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space
my 10mg vial weighed 11.4g on the jewellery scale, is that wrong
weighing the vial before you reconstitute is the only way to catch an underfill
one unit is 0.01ml. 100 units is 1ml. everything else in this channel follows from that
give it 9 minutes at room temperature before you decide it has not dissolved, happy to be corrected
does temperature of the bac water matter at all
round numbers
bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 9 weeks
i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths
is a slightly cloudy solution ever ok or is that always a bin it
the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol
15mg in 3ml is 5mg/ml. same numbers as 10 in 2, just more of it
10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use
update on the earlier thing anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 1.7mg on a round unit mark
5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose
