i was wrong to call something a scam in 2024 and it was a fill problem. i try to remember that

right so report it even if nothing happens. the pattern is the value, not the individual case

i want to report a scam. vials came in at 8.4mg on a 10mg label
that is a complaint and it might be a serious one, but it is not a scam report. wrong channel and wrong word
they took my money and sent me less than i paid for. how is that not a scam
this is a fair question and it deserves a proper answer rather than a rule quote
underfill by 16 percent is a quality failure. it is real, it is your money, and you should raise it
a scam is when nobody ever intended to send you the product. you got the right compound, in glass, with paperwork, from a company with an address
and crucially, you can email them and a human will reply. that is not what fraud looks like from the inside
so i just eat it

Wuhan Wansheng replaced a light lot for me in february once i sent weights for all ten vials. took three weeks and two emails

the weights for all ten is the bit people skip. one light vial is anecdote, ten weights is a case
how to make an underfill complaint land:
- tare a clean identical empty vial, note the mass
- weigh each sealed vial, subtract the tare
- list all of them, including the good ones
- photograph the lot on the glass and the box
- one email, numbers first, no adjectives
vendors argue with adjectives. they cannot argue with ten weights.ok, that is actionable. i only weighed the two that looked low
then your case currently looks like cherry picking even if it is not

there is one grey area i keep chewing on though
a middleman buys a manufacturer's vials, sells them at triple, and lets you assume they made it
grey, yes. legal, probably. honest, no
if they never claim to have synthesised it, it is a markup. the moment they claim the synthesis, they are lying about a material fact
i bought Shanghai Sigma-Audley material from a middleman once at nearly double, without realising
the lot number format gave it away. i recognised it from the log
which is a genuinely good use of the log and not one we designed it for
was Sigma-Audley bothered
i asked. they said they sell to distributors and cannot control resale pricing, which is a completely normal answer
it is the answer any manufacturer would give and it is true
so the lesson is buy direct where you can
buy from someone with a history where you can. direct is not always possible and a good reseller is not a bad thing
TFC and Homopeptide both sell direct at small quantities, for what it is worth. so do most of the log
