  • non_scale_win — fraud means somebody set out to take your money or deceive you about what is in the vial. keep the words separate, thats one data point a chromatogram that appears on… 09:32
  • non_scale_win — a fake tracking number that resolves on no carrier at all is conclusive. one that resolves and stalls is not 09:41

AN

tracking number does not resolve on any carrier, is that a fake
impersonating a real supplier support desk is the pattern that has cost members the most money

somebody is relabelling and marking up, is that a scam or just retail

MC

sorry to jump in relabelling and marking up is retail, not fraud. it is a risk profile question, not a crime

right so report it even if nothing happens. the pattern is the value, not the individual case, from memory

TT

for the archive a bad batch is not a scam. an underfill is not a scam. slow support is not a scam

TT

anyone recognise this pattern, a discount that expires in an hour

MC

we do not name private individuals in this channel. that is why some lines here are redacted

is a hyphenated version of a real domain always fake

if you cannot tell an impersonator from bad support, treat it as an impersonator until you can

NS

fraud means somebody set out to take your money or deceive you about what is in the vial. keep the words separate, thats one data point
a chromatogram that appears on two different lots is forged. not sloppy, forged

📈1❤️10📉6

a fake tracking number that resolves on no carrier at all is conclusive. one that resolves and stalls is not

WN

a chromatogram that appears on two different lots is forged. not sloppy, forged

TT

read the domain character by character. that is the entire defence and it works

TT

slightly off topic but a reply from a different address than the one you wrote to is worth stopping over

thats the pattern

NS

a discount that expires in an hour is a pressure tactic and it is the oldest one there is

certificate looks recycled from another lot, second opinion

the lookalike domains almost always differ by one doubled letter, a swapped letter, or an added hyphen, still working it out

this certificate has the same chromatogram as one from two years ago

TT

do not engage. do not negotiate. do not send a test payment. screenshot and post it

TT

a second payment because the first "did not clear" is the pattern. there is no first payment to clear, n of 1 obviously

slightly off topic but nobody legitimate contacts you unsolicited offering a discount. report it, do not reply

got an unsolicited message offering a discount, is this a known thing

SF

update on the earlier thing i was wrong to call something a scam in 2024 and it was a fill problem. i try to remember that

update on the earlier thing group buy organiser has gone quiet after 14 days, what do people do

NS

sorry to jump in read it character by character
a bad batch is not a scam. an underfill is not a scam. slow support is not a scam

thats forged

MM

the reply came from a different address than the one i wrote to, is that normal

thats a bad batch not fraud

👀1🙏13

do not engage

an anonymous group buy organiser holding other peoples money is the highest risk arrangement in this hobby

SA

i have never seen a real supplier ask for payment to a personal account, still working it out
