follow up did anyone hold at 12 longer than four weeks before going up

- relabel_watch — STEP 4 had the withdrawal arm, thats the one people quote when they talk about stopping 13:54
- relabel_watch — quick one going slow cost me nothing except time and saved me two bad weeks, thats my whole contribution, someone check my working 14:40
- panel_before_after — went 1 to 1.7 too fast and spent two weeks regretting it, dropped back and repeated the step FLOW was the kidney outcomes trial and it gets quoted in here for things… 15:24
- nordic_price_nils — lost about 43kg on the low doses before i even got to 1, which surprised me 18:26
2.4 is the ceiling
changed my mind on the four week rule, i think it depends entirely on how the current dose feels
same dose day
seven days ish
mine faded too
slightly off topic but restarted after 5 months off at a low dose and the nausea arrived exactly like the first time
if youre comparing brand to compounded, dose accuracy in the vial is the variable, not the molecule
SELECT was cardiovascular outcomes in people with overweight and existing disease, not a weight trial
went too fast once
went to 2.4 and the extra suppression wasnt worth the GI for me, so i came back down
steady state takes weeks
| Trial schedule | What most people here do | |
|---|---|---|
| Step interval | 4 weeks, fixed | 4-12 weeks, on symptoms |
| Holding | protocol deviation | normal and expected |
| Top dose | reached by design | often never reached |
| Coming down | not studied | common at maintenance |
my 5 vial in 2ml gives 8mg/ml so 2.4 lands on 15 units, thats why i picked that volume
*mg/ml, obviously
STEP 4 had the withdrawal arm, thats the one people quote when they talk about stopping
slightly off topic but the trials titrated on a fixed schedule, most people here dont, worth remembering when comparing
[edited]for the archive 13 months at 2.4 and the honest summary is diminishing returns after the first half
[edited]does the licensed ceiling for weight differ from the diabetes one
STEP 1 ran to 68 weeks. thats the one everyone half remembers
did the STEP 4 withdrawal arm show what i think it showed
vials not pens here
five week steps worked better for me than four, purely on how the second week felt
i held at 7.5 for 3 months and it was the best decision i made
my Medutest report on the FGP vial came back 98.1 against a certificate saying 99
how long did the first 25kg take for people at the low doses
quick one going slow cost me nothing except time and saved me two bad weeks, thats my whole contribution, someone check my working
right so the appetite effect faded for me around 6 months and going up fixed it for a while, ill dig out the number
went 1 to 1.7 too fast and spent two weeks regretting it, dropped back and repeated the step
FLOW was the kidney outcomes trial and it gets quoted in here for things it didnt measure
is the plateau at 16 weeks normal or am i doing something wrong
slower worked better
held at 2 and lost 19lb over 24 months, slower than the trials and fine by me, n of 1 obviously
anyone gone from 15 straight to 7.5 or is that too big a jump
give it four weeks
update on the earlier thing moving my dose day by a day or two never did anything noticeable for me
not the same trial
SELECT wasnt weight
licensed ceiling for weight is 2.4 weekly, anything above that is not a licensed dose
does anyone actually run a five week step instead of four
how long till steady state, ive read the half life is about a week
steady state is the bit people skip, judging a new dose after eight days tells you almost nothing, from memory
the plateau hit me at 6 weeks and moved again about a month later without a dose change
follow up SELECT wasnt weight
i dont think the plateau is a dose problem most of the time, but i cant prove that
i stayed on 1.7 for 13 months and never went to 2.4, appetite was already where i needed it
lost about 43kg on the low doses before i even got to 1, which surprised me
held there too
vial units and pen clicks are different systems, mixing the two is how people end up wrong
STEP is several trials, so saying STEP said x is usually wrong without a number after it
i was wrong about the ceiling for a year, i thought 3 existed. it doesnt for the weight indication
coming back to this compounded and brand felt the same to me at 5, which is one person and nothing more, n of 1 obviously
half life is about a week so youre roughly four to five weeks to steady state on any new dose
