give it another week
nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly
does a signature requirement help or hurt
i declare it as what it is at a low value. we do not discuss wording beyond that here
reship policies vary enormously. MKM honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal
On this day 9 years ago this channel logged 131 messages.
be patient with support
no wording advice here
if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that
do you use the same address every time
parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port
has anyone had a parcel arrive after being marked as returned
parcel arrived warm. genuinely warm, the box was hot to the touch. sat in a van in 34 degrees for a day
lyophilised or liquid
lyophilised
then the honest answer is that it is very probably fine and i cannot prove it to you without a test
that is not comforting
no, but it is accurate. dry peptide is far more thermally tolerant than people assume. it is water that does the damage
the risk from heat on a dry cake over days is small. the risk from moisture ingress through a compromised stopper is not
so check the stopper
check the stopper, look at the cake for any sign it has slumped or gone glassy, and reconstitute one to see if it goes clear
cake looks normal. one of them has a slightly shrunken look but they all dissolved clear
then use them and, if you can afford it, send one for testing so we all learn something
who was it, Qingdao Sigma Chemical, and no i am not blaming them for a heatwave
correct, they do not control the van
what they do control is whether they include a pack at all and how well the box is insulated, and QSC packaging is the thinnest in the log
that is a fair criticism with evidence behind it and it is not the same as blaming them for the weather
what do vendors actually offer when this happens
from my own dealings plus what people have said in here. not published policies, so do not wave this at anyone
| Vendor | Border loss | Damaged in transit | Warm arrival | Asked me for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JEEP Peptides | free reship (repeat buyer) | free replacement | case by case | photos |
| Hubei Jianxiang | 50% reship | free replacement | will test a retained vial | photos + lot |
| Shanghai ERP | 50% reship | free replacement | no policy stated | photos + tracking |
| Qingdao Sigma Chemical | credit on next order | credit on next order | no policy stated | photos, then 11 days |
Jianxiang testing a retained vial is interesting
retained samples are standard practice for anyone with a real QC function. they keep vials from every lot so they can check a complaint against something
a vendor who can pull a retain and test it is telling you something real about their operation
Hubei Jianxiang did that for me in april and sent me the trace from the retain. it matched the original certificate
and that closed it, presumably
it closed it. my vial was probably fine and my complaint was probably wrong, which i am happy to say out loud
that is worth more to this channel than nine complaints
what does a company actually owe you though
whatever they said they would. that is genuinely the whole answer
read the terms before you pay. a vendor who states a 50 percent reship policy and honours it is behaving better than one who promises everything and negotiates afterwards
and the channel does not arbitrate disputes. we can tell you what is normal, we cannot make anyone pay you
understood. i am not asking anyone to fight it for me
once it is in your hands, storage is on you:
lyophilised, unopened -> fridge is fine, freezer is fine, dark either way
reconstituted -> fridge, and the clock is now running
never -> a windowsill, a car, or a warm cupboard
see #storage-coldchain, they argue about the numbers over therecold-chain reports this quarter: 34 warm arrivals, 31 subsequently tested in range, 2 untested, 1 failed purity (unrelated lot issue confirmed by vendor retain)
31 of 33 tested fine. that is reassuring
it is, with the caveat that it is a small number and self-selected, and the one failure was traced to the lot rather than the heat
*33 tested, 31 in range, the bot said 34 arrivals. sorry, been staring at numbers all day
the correction is appreciated and this is why we keep the bot line above it
