a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway

MC

i left it out overnight by accident, bin it or use it

LO

how do you keep it cold on a long drive in summer

LO

reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

two to eight

BR

a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive

update from 4 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

sorry to jump in the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in

cold pack arrived completely liquid, does that mean anything

LO

power cut for 4 hours, fridge stayed shut, am i fine

my fridge is 6.2

AA

lyophilised at room temp for 23 days in transit, worried or not

💀2

powder is robust

U1

unopened and in-use in the same place is fine. just keep the in-use one where you can reach it

is there a difference in stability between the compounds

BR

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place

U1

if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for

U1

buy a thermometer. mine reads 6.2 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

🤝11⚠️9🧊9

how long is reconstituted actually good for at room temperature

does the fridge in a hotel room count as a fridge

how cold is too cold, can it actually freeze in a normal fridge

LL

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

U1

anyone tested a vial before and after a bad transit

U1

coming back after 13 months, is the pinned storage table still current

🤝2
LO

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

right so lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear

i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine
