i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why

LO

my fridge is running at 4, is that out of range

👍39🤝7
RR

two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

LO

is a five pound fridge thermometer actually worth it

power cut for 3 hours, fridge stayed shut, am i fine

the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in

PM

light exposure matters much less than temperature for these. i still keep them in the carton

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot C-4402. Nothing logged either way.

LO

unopened and in-use in the same place is fine. just keep the in-use one where you can reach it

SB

the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves

😂8

do you log the fridge temperature or is that too far

LO

anyone tested a vial before and after a bad transit

SS

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

SS

buy a thermometer. mine reads 4 on the door and two degrees lower at the back, still working it out

log it

LO

how do you keep it cold on a long drive in summer

SN

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

LO

update from 9 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

flying with vials, hand luggage or checked

unrelated but i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine

LO

i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door

door shelf or back of the fridge
