a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

💀9⚠️7❤️1

update on the earlier thing the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves

[edited]

freeze debate again

BB

hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct

BB

a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive

log it

BB

power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well, take that with a pinch of salt

KK

while im here my fridge is running at 4.8, is that out of range

VB

New independent result logged — QSC, lot F-1330, purity 98.6% (Janoshik).

KK

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

VB

Channel stats, last 30 days: 26 messages from 34 members.

KK

quick one do i need to worry about light exposure or is that overthinking

gel packs

do you log the fridge temperature or is that too far

CN

lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear

i would bin it

BB

i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why

TT

i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door

freezing reconstituted peptide is the one thing this channel has never agreed on

two to eight

BB

if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for

BB

how long is reconstituted actually good for at room temperature

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

TT

unopened and in-use in the same place is fine. just keep the in-use one where you can reach it, ymmv

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

KK

do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place

TT

reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

*Janoshik not the other one

HM

how cold is too cold, can it actually freeze in a normal fridge

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that your vial cooked

FT

buy a thermometer. mine reads 4 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

WW

update from 21 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

genuine question two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

coming back to this light exposure matters much less than temperature for these. i still keep them in the carton

coming back after 7 months, is the pinned storage table still current
