Highlights from this day
  • pbs_pip — ok so freezing reconstituted peptide is the one thing this channel has never agreed on, i have it written down somewhere 22:10
  • split_shipment — the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in, thats one data point 22:12
  • split_shipment — anyone had a vial visibly change after a warm transit 22:16
  • pbs_pip — a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive 22:52
TL

for the archive reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

SS

i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why, anyway

two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

AP

i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine, i think

RS

buy a thermometer. mine reads 7.4 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

PP

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

SS

lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear

PP

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

PP

the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves

ok so freezing reconstituted peptide is the one thing this channel has never agreed on, i have it written down somewhere

📉2🙏5

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

while im here update from 6 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

anyone had a vial visibly change after a warm transit

🤝6👀2

do you log the fridge temperature or is that too far

a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive
