when did you buy it
#test-results 2024-12-19
- deamidation — it is the opposite of a cop-out. claiming to know which one is right when four variables differ would be the cop-out 16:17
- taper_tess — if you wanted to actually test this you would split one vial, send halves to two labs on the same day, in the same packaging 16:19
- knees_first — so if my number is 99.1 and yours is 96.8 the lot is somewhere around 98 and change and neither of us should quote our own figure as the truth 16:31
- meal_prep_mick — Hubei Jianxiang did that with one of mine, quoted the number without the context. i asked them to add the lot and date and they did, which surprised me 16:37
- marrow.mod — this is how it is meant to go. two people disagreeing and nobody being called a shill 17:05
certificate said 98.1 and the independent came back 97.4, is that a problem
thats a fill problem
is a purity-only test worth the money if underfill is the common failure
i have never regretted spending the money on a test. i have regretted not testing twice
post the lot, the purchase month, the lab, the number, and what you were expecting. that makes it useful later
posting my Janoshik result on lot F-1330, what do people make of it
whats the worst result anyone has logged and what happened next
coming back after 23 months with a follow up result, where do i put it
if the vial has been through a bad transit you are testing the transit as much as the supplier
does anyone log the negative results, the boring ones
weigh the vial before you reconstitute. it costs nothing and catches the common failure, for what its worth
is it worth testing if the vial has already been through a warm transit
the results in this channel skew because people test when they are suspicious. that is selection bias and it is real
one data point
coming back to this my vial assayed under label but the purity was fine, which matters more
a single sample tells you about a single vial. that is genuinely all it tells you
so this is awkward. same lot, two of us tested, 99.1% and 96.8%
the 96.8 is mine
not accusing you of anything, i just want to understand it
same, i would rather know
good. this is the useful kind of disagreement. list the differences before anyone theorises
mine: sealed vial, sent February, Janoshik, arrived in four days
mine: decanted, sent April, different lab, arrived in nine, vial had been in a fridge that got opened forty times a day
there are four independent differences there and any one of them could carry two points
so the honest answer is the two results are not comparable, and the disagreement is not evidence about the lot
that feels like a cop-out
it is the opposite of a cop-out. claiming to know which one is right when four variables differ would be the cop-out
if you wanted to actually test this you would split one vial, send halves to two labs on the same day, in the same packaging
which is what the pooled rounds in #lab-requests are supposed to do and we keep not doing it properly
we did it once in 2025 and the answer was 1.3 points apart, which was the least dramatic outcome available
and completely consistent with what you would expect from method differences alone
so if my number is 99.1 and yours is 96.8 the lot is somewhere around 98 and change and neither of us should quote our own figure as the truth
that is a very good reading of it
does the vendor get to use the higher one in their marketing
they always do
Hubei Jianxiang did that with one of mine, quoted the number without the context. i asked them to add the lot and date and they did, which surprised me
that is a better outcome than most complaints get
the Sangon lot is the one i actually care about. do we call this resolved
we call it unresolved and low-concern. no result under 96, two results, poor comparability
unresolved and low-concern should be a stamp
half the archive would carry it
for the record i am not withdrawing my number, i still think my vial was worse than his
you may be right. i just cannot get there from the data
fair
this is how it is meant to go. two people disagreeing and nobody being called a shill
next round i will split with you directly so we are testing the same powder
