Highlights from this day
  • u100_pat — log the boring results too. a channel that only records failures produces a false picture 15:48
  • VialBot — Purity check: no report on file for lot C-4402. Nothing logged either way. 16:23
  • u100_pat — my sheet has 6 lots from GGPeps with a spread under a point, which is tight, anyway 17:11
  • luerlok — sample handling on your end absolutely affects it. draw cleanly, ship fast, do not let it sit warm 18:06
  • monoisotopic — how do you separate batch variance from supplier variance 18:08

update from 15 months ago: retested the same supplier, result came back better, logged both

selection bias

if you are testing to settle an argument you will not settle it with n of 1

certificate said 97.4 and the independent came back 99, is that a problem

posting my Medutest result on lot E-2205, what do people make of it

U1

log the boring results too. a channel that only records failures produces a false picture

FA

underfill is more common than impurity. if you only test purity you are testing the less likely failure

the honest limits: hobby chain of custody is weak and any result here should be read with that in mind, thats one data point

U1

how much does sample handling on my end affect the number

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot C-4402. Nothing logged either way.

slightly off topic but a supplier disputing a result is rare here and it has never gone well for the supplier

*Janoshik not the other one

does a bad result on one lot condemn the whole supplier

U1

my sheet has 6 lots from GGPeps with a spread under a point, which is tight, anyway

test it again

FA

i test roughly every tenth vial. it is a sampling strategy, not paranoia, ill dig out the number

weigh it first

post the lot, the purchase month, the lab, the number, and what you were expecting. that makes it useful later

thats not great

nice result

VL

one bad test does not condemn a supplier. one good test does not clear one. both halves get ignored equally

LU

sample handling on your end absolutely affects it. draw cleanly, ship fast, do not let it sit warm

how do you separate batch variance from supplier variance

i had a result i am fairly sure was a handling error on my side and i logged it as such
