coming back to this update from 22 months ago: my clinic price went up by $240 and the supply steadied in the same month

NP

nobody here can tell you what your gp will do. the variation between practices is the whole story in england

when i checked last year my local specialist service was quoting eighteen months to two years, and that was for a first appointment

GB

border force stopped a parcel of mine and sent a letter, and that was the whole of it. no follow up and no knock at the door

NP

the shortage was upstream of the pharmacies as far as anyone here could tell, and shouting at counter staff achieved nothing

GB

the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

the online clinics vary enormously in how much they check. one wanted a video call and photographs and one wanted almost nothing

🤝2

i rang eleven pharmacies and the twelfth had it. that was one winter, and it is not a strategy, we shall see

everything in this channel about pricing is a snapshot. read any figure here as the month somebody typed it

MM

whats the position on driving, is there anything anyone had to declare

NA

a member in dublin said their pharmacy supply was steadier than mine in england, which surprised both of us

GB

the tier 3 referral needed my gp to actually make it, and that turned out to be harder than meeting the criteria

16

sorry to jump in a private prescription in the uk was dispensable at any pharmacy willing to take it, in my experience of it, i think

MM

wales was reported in here as slower to get started and steadier once you were in, and that was second hand

VB

Testing queue: 6 submissions open, 108 awaiting dispatch.

GB

an irish member told me their out of pocket cost was noticeably higher than the uk equivalent when they compared in 2024

KF

i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that, we shall see

is the pharmacy supply gap the manufacturer or the wholesalers

NP

i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist
i paid £94 a month at a private clinic in 2024 and the price went up twice while i was with them

coming back to this anyone in ireland willing to compare what theyre paying

ST

as of when i last looked, nhs access ran through specialist weight management services and the criteria were tight

👀6🧪7
ST

cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision, your mileage will differ

ST

i paid $185 a month at a private clinic in 2024 and the price went up twice while i was with them

GB

update on the earlier thing the mhra publishes supply notices. whether your pharmacy has read them is an entirely separate matter

GB

the honest position on uk policy is that it moved four times in the two years i have been paying attention

MM

the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me

driving never came up for me at all and i would ask a clinician rather than take my word on it

RW

for the archive what does unlicensed actually mean when the mhra uses the word

unlicensed in mhra terms means there is no uk marketing authorisation for that product. it is not the same as illegal and it is not the same as approved

👀10🎉12

follow up did anyone get through the nhs route and how long was it end to end

VV

private clinic quoted me £94 a month, is that about right or am i being had
