the honest position on uk policy is that it moved four times in the two years i have been paying attention

scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait
an irish member told me their out of pocket cost was noticeably higher than the uk equivalent when they compared in 2024, n of 1 obviously
as of when i last looked, nhs access ran through specialist weight management services and the criteria were tight

wales was reported in here as slower to get started and steadier once you were in, and that was second hand
a private prescription in the uk was dispensable at any pharmacy willing to take it, in my experience of it
unrelated but border force stopped a parcel of mine and sent a letter, and that was the whole of it. no follow up and no knock at the door
is a private prescription transferable between pharmacies
there was a two year limit in the nhs guidance i read. what happened at the end of it was not clear to me then and may be clearer now, anyway

nobody here can tell you what your gp will do. the variation between practices is the whole story in england
i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist
the shortage was upstream of the pharmacies as far as anyone here could tell, and shouting at counter staff achieved nothing
