slightly off topic but i would order from QST again and i would still weigh the vials, as i would with anyone
#vendor-talk 2025-12-26
- snac_and_water — first order was 99.2 on Janoshik, this one came back 96.8 on the same test type. both usable, both nowhere near what the sheet said 09:34
- blind_submit — GL Biochem make peptide at real scale for a lot of the market. they are respected and they are not selling you a ten pack 12:00
- sol_sends — i emailed GL Biochem out of curiosity two years ago. professional reply, sensible questions, minimum that made my eyes water 12:11
Reminder for luerlok: dose day is today. Set 6 days ago.
cold packs are not standard everywhere. ask explicitly and it usually costs nothing
for the archive update from 17 months ago: switched suppliers on fill consistency, not on purity, for what its worth
quoted lead time versus actual is the number i track. the gap is the informative part
anyone had fill consistency problems with SSA
screenshot the invoice
a supplier who tells you something is out of stock rather than shipping late is doing you a favour
Purity check: no report on file for lot H-2814. Nothing logged either way.
weigh the vials
for the archive minimum orders push people into buying more than they want, which is a real cost nobody puts in the per mg number
i asked for a non standard vial size and got it without a surcharge. that told me more than any certificate
i have never had a problem i could not resolve with SGN, which is a low bar and a lot of suppliers fail it
second order from Homopeptide arrived. it is fine. it is just fine
define fine
first order was 99.2 on Janoshik, this one came back 96.8 on the same test type. both usable, both nowhere near what the sheet said
and support took six days to reply to a question about the lot
what did their own paperwork claim
99.5 and 99.4
so the 96.8 is a real miss against their claim, and the first one basically matched
that reads as batch variance rather than anything deliberate. it is still a reason to test every lot
Hunan Aslsen have always been slow for me too. never rude, never wrong, just slow
so do i reorder or switch
what were you paying
Homopeptide: 10 x 10mg = 380 -> 3.80/mg
JEEP: 10 x 10mg = 455 -> 4.55/mg
delta 0.75/mg = 75 per orderso 75 buys you same-day email and a tighter fill record. i would pay it, you might not
75 is 75
it is. i am not going to pretend otherwise
there is a third option which is stay and test every lot, and budget the test into the per-mg number
Homopeptide 3.80/mg
+ one purity test at 70 spread over 100mg = 0.70/mg
= 4.50/mg effective
JEEP 4.55/mg untestedoh that is annoyingly close
that calculation is the single most useful thing in this channel and nobody does it
wait so testing costs about 70
depends on the lab and the test. purity only is the cheap end. identity plus purity plus mass is more
and GL Biochem, someone said they are the ones actually making it
GL Biochem make peptide at real scale for a lot of the market. they are respected and they are not selling you a ten pack
i emailed GL Biochem out of curiosity two years ago. professional reply, sensible questions, minimum that made my eyes water
so why does everyone bring them up
because when you ask where material comes from, houses that size are part of the honest answer
and because half the arguments in here dissolve once people separate who synthesised it from who sold it to you
fine. i am reordering from Homopeptide and testing the lot. if it comes back under 97 again i move
that is a decision rule and not a vibe, i approve
log it in #vendor-verification when it lands, with the lot number
will do
