depends entirely what state its in. lyophilised powder is far more forgiving than solution. sustained heat is worse than a short spike
and there is no visual test. a degraded vial looks exactly like a fine one, which is the whole problem

you dont know. you can send it for testing, which several people here do after a bad delivery, but you cannot eyeball it
i had two vials tested after a February delivery and one came back noticeably lower purity than the batch sheet claimed. Janoshik did that one for me
one result on one vial isnt a story about the vendor, to be fair. it might be a story about a van
agreed, and that is why i didnt name anyone at the time

practical question. what do people do in an Australian summer
collect from a depot rather than take home delivery. it changes the last leg from a hot van to a warehouse
and never order into a week you are away. an unattended parcel in January is a write-off
i now have a habit of ordering to my workplace because there is always someone there and there is a fridge

it was minus 31 here on tuesday. a parcel left on a porch for two hours is frozen solid
is frozen worse than hot
for a reconstituted solution, freezing is genuinely bad. ice crystal formation and freeze-thaw stress are not kind to peptides in solution
for dry powder, a cold excursion is much less of an issue than a hot one. so the Canadian winter is mostly a problem for anything already in liquid
which is exactly what i learned by shipping myself two vials to a hotel in January like an idiot

what i do now, and it has worked for two winters
winter protocol, prairie edition
1. never ship dec-feb if avoidable
2. if shipping, depot pickup only, no porch
3. track daily, collect within 4h of arrival scan
4. anything already in solution: do not ship at all
5. powder tolerates the trip, solution does not
6. a cheap min/max thermometer in the box tells you

i put one in the last four boxes. two came back with peaks i did not enjoy reading
some vendors will include one if you ask. Qingdao Saber did for me, GGPeps said no. thats not a criticism of either, it is a shipping-desk decision
and if you get a peak reading you dont like, that is a data point for #storage-coldchain, not automatically a scam story for #scam-watch
back to there being no visual test — is there anything at all you can see that means definitely bad
visible particulates that dont go with gentle swirling, a solution that has gone cloudy, or a cake that has slumped into a glassy blob. those tell you something happened
