update on the earlier thing i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge
#injection-technique 2026-03-08
thats a reaction
*that should say weekly
how far from the navel is actually far enough
a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call
dont recap
coming back after 19 months, has the pinned technique guide changed
follow up push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards
i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge
do you use the insulin syringe for both drawing and injecting
if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle
Reminder set. I will post here in 9 days.
i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror
pinch, 45 degrees, count to five, withdraw slowly. two years and almost no bruising
let the alcohol dry. that is ninety percent of "my injections sting"
anyone got a rotation map they would share
Reminder set. I will post here in 3 days.
is 31G noticeably better than 29G or is it marginal
quick one a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back
welts at the site are usually a mild local reaction and rotation sorts it
fresh pin
cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes
does injecting a cold vial hurt more or am i imagining it
while im here 90 degrees or 45
quick one do you change the pin between drawing up and injecting
do you count to five before withdrawing
small bubble is fine
do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass, from memory
rotate
thigh or abdomen, does absorption actually differ
pinch
not a problem
i bled a bit, is that a needle depth thing
nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do
