Highlights from this day
  • VialBot — Inter-lab diff for lot D-0718: 98.1% vs 98.6%. Within expected range. 19:50
  • LC_MS_Lena — i keep half the sample back so there is something to send if the first one goes missing 19:59
  • typosquat_tay — while im here quantity is the test worth paying for. purity is usually fine and fill usually is not, not advice obviously 20:23
  • typosquat_tay — including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever added to this process 20:35
  • tail_factor — chain of custody in hobby testing is weak and we say so in every writeup 21:36

we have never had a lab mix up a sample. we have had members mix up their own labelling twice

LM

submissions go out blinded. the lab gets a code, not a supplier name. that removes one variable, it is not distrust

TF

VendorInvestigate has been the fastest for us. PeptideMeter has been the most detailed. those are not the same lab

CO

right so two labs on the same lot is a luxury but it is how we learned what inter-lab variance looks like

update from 25 months ago: the blinding process is unchanged and it has held up fine

label the syringe

add a standard

is there a submission going out this month and can i get in on it

are we blinding this one or does the lab know the source

TT

including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever added to this process

dont send your only vial

in for one

TF

a code and a lot number on the syringe in permanent marker. that is the whole labelling requirement

chain of custody in hobby testing is weak and we say so in every writeup

TF

declare it as an analytical reference sample with a low value. that is what it is, still working it out

TL

i coordinate the round, collect the codes, and post every result including the dull ones, anyway

GG

unrelated but send a capped syringe with enough for a rerun. the minimum is never enough if they need to repeat it
