if i go back up after regain does it work the same the second time
#maintenance 2026-04-08
- ring_size_down — i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand 20:51
- plus_sixteen — i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose 21:25
- food_noise_off — if you find maintenance harder than the losing part you are in the majority in this room 21:32
- plus_sixteen — SURMOUNT-1 is the stopping one. weight came back on for most people once the drug stopped. that is the finding, not an opinion 23:06
- juno_joins — i put 32 back on after stopping and then went back on it. it worked the same the second time round 23:10
i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand
*Medutest not the other one
same as a bp tablet
did anyone drop the dose for maintenance or just stay where they were
come down slower than that
two or three kilos up and down is normal fluctuation. ten is a different conversation
did your maintenance dose end up higher or lower than you expected it to
protein up not down
mine held
appetite came back over about three weeks after i reduced, not all at once, which is what i had braced for, still working it out
i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
coming back to this i set a trigger weight instead of a target. if i cross it i go up a rung. that is my entire plan
if you find maintenance harder than the losing part you are in the majority in this room
is there any trial data at all on a lower frequency schedule
set a trigger weight
appetite returning is not the drug failing, it is the drug doing less because you are taking less of it
lift twice a week
slightly off topic but whats your rule for when a fluctuation becomes a regain
update from 9 months ago: still at maintenance, still boring, which was always the goal
still at maintenance
my range is 28 and i stopped calling anything inside that a regain
i tried to come down and could not hold it, went back to treatment dose, and stopped apologising for it
i came off for four months, put 45 back on, and came back. no drama in it, just numbers
thats fluctuation
protein went up during maintenance for me rather than down, which was completely counterintuitive
[edited]did anyone regret dropping the dose too fast
holidays at maintenance are fine, i take the dose on the day and stop thinking about it
how do people handle a two week holiday at a maintenance dose
no official dose
[edited]went back up, no regrets
im at goal and nobody has told me what happens next, whats the room doing
thats STEP 4
the honest answer to is this forever is that nobody knows and the drug only works while you are taking it
a 10mg vial at a 2mg maintenance dose is five weeks of doses, so my monthly cost roughly halved, n of 1 obviously
SURMOUNT-1 is the stopping one. weight came back on for most people once the drug stopped. that is the finding, not an opinion
anyone gone off entirely and stayed off successfully
how much regain did people get in the first 14 months after stopping
i put 32 back on after stopping and then went back on it. it worked the same the second time round
the muscle question is the one i wish i had taken seriously at month two instead of month twelve
how long did people stay at treatment dose after hitting goal
