a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not

- triumph_watch — bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 3 weeks benzyl alcohol is what makes it bacteriostatic. it is about 0.9% typically 22:51
- eight_mm — swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back 22:58
- septum_sal — does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder 23:23
the powder is stuck to the stopper, do i care
clear or bin it
if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7
benzyl alcohol is what makes it bacteriostatic. it is about 0.9% typically
right so anyone else find the 40mg vials harder to get fully dissolved than the small ones
bac water
quick one whats the smallest volume you would trust yourself to measure on a u100
write the date on
yep 10 units
i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve
it foamed. is it ruined
[edited]do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration
is a slightly cloudy solution ever ok or is that always a bin it
i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths
do you draw up with the same pin you inject with
i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume
sorry to jump in 10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use
nope, redo it
temperature of the diluent does not matter. how fast you push it in does
aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler
do you let it come to room temp before drawing or draw it cold
bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all
my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am
if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space
dead space
right so 10mg in 2ml is 5mg/ml. so 0.5mg is 0.1ml which is 10 units on a u100
i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in
bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 3 weeks
benzyl alcohol is what makes it bacteriostatic. it is about 0.9% typically
give it 4 minutes at room temperature before you decide it has not dissolved
nobody here should be telling you a dose. we can check your arithmetic, thats a different thing
is it normal for the cake to look slightly collapsed on one side
swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back
im getting bubbles in the barrel every single time, what am i doing wrong
[edited]is there any reason not to just always use 2ml
thats fine
why does everyone say 2ml specifically and not 1ml
[edited]while im here took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience, i think
a 3ml syringe for the diluent and a u100 for the dose is the setup most people here end up with, still working it out
if i add 3ml to a 10mg vial what concentration am i actually at
you can absolutely just always use 2ml, and honestly most of us should
update from 8 months ago: switched to a single concentration and have not miscalculated since
round numbers
while im here the last few units are a real loss. i accept it rather than tilting the vial and drawing air
the jewellery scale is a good habit but calibrate it, they drift badly
lyophilised powder is far more robust than people think. it is the solution that is fragile
does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder
label the vial
is the meniscus reading actually a real source of error or am i overthinking
my 10mg vial weighed 11.4g on the jewellery scale, is that wrong
while im here it should be completely clear with no floaters. cloudy means stop
can i add more bac water later to a vial ive already reconstituted
i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it
anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 1mg on a round unit mark
i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it
