Highlights from this day
  • split_the_cost — right so if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way 23:11
  • split_the_cost — anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 0.25mg on a round unit mark 23:15
  • split_the_cost — sanity check my maths before i pin myself with something stupid 23:19
  • split_the_cost — does benzyl alcohol matter if im finishing the vial in one go 23:29
  • split_the_cost — coming back to this 20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy 23:33
SB

pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick

NE

nobody here should be telling you a dose. we can check your arithmetic, thats a different thing

foam is bad

ST

if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space

TE

i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in

TE

unrelated but if i add 3ml to a 5mg vial what concentration am i actually at

VV

do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration

coming back to this you can absolutely just always use 2ml, and honestly most of us should

📈2⚠️4
WV

bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 8 weeks

the jewellery scale is a good habit but calibrate it, they drift badly

VV

dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month

i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume

VB

Reminder set. I will post here in 6 days.

🤝1

if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it at a lower concentration

yep 10 units

is there any reason not to just always use 2ml

check your maths

right so if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol

anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 0.25mg on a round unit mark

write the date on

sanity check my maths before i pin myself with something stupid

LL

is it worth buying a 3ml syringe for the diluent or is the insulin one fine

is a slightly cloudy solution ever ok or is that always a bin it

LL

10mg in 2ml is 5mg/ml. so 0.5mg is 0.1ml which is 10 units on a u100

coming back to this 20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy

🔥2❤️18

whats the smallest volume you would trust yourself to measure on a u100

EO

i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve
a 3ml syringe for the diluent and a u100 for the dose is the setup most people here end up with

❤️1🙏1
NE

temperature of the diluent does not matter. how fast you push it in does
the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol

TT

right so do you let it come to room temp before drawing or draw it cold
