  • two_eight_c — unrelated but is there any reason not to just always use 2ml 20:48
  • patent_2026 — 5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose 21:58
ES

slightly off topic but dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month

SS

for the archive is the meniscus reading actually a real source of error or am i overthinking

dead space

temperature of the diluent does not matter. how fast you push it in does

i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve

ok so bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 4 weeks

i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in, we shall see

TE

does temperature of the bac water matter at all

TE

unrelated but is there any reason not to just always use 2ml

🧪17🎉14

i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists

AA

my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am

weigh it first

20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy, thats one data point

TE

the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol

VB

Digest for the week of 2026-03-31 has been published.

coming back after 17 months, has the pinned recon volume advice changed

does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder
5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose

ST

label the date too. you will not remember which vial is which by week 20

bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all

if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way, still working it out

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot G-0641. Nothing logged either way.

ST

is it worth buying a 3ml syringe for the diluent or is the insulin one fine

P2

5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose

📉10😂8⚠️3

sanity check my maths before i pin myself with something stupid

foam is bad

MM

if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7
update from 22 months ago: switched to a single concentration and have not miscalculated since

Testing queue: 9 submissions open, 86 awaiting dispatch.

MM

sorry to jump in a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not

MM

genuine question 30mg in 3ml is 10mg/ml, so 5mg is 50 units. half the barrel, feels like a lot but its right

ES

update on the earlier thing anyone else find the 5mg vials harder to get fully dissolved than the small ones

*VendorInvestigate not the other one

it should be completely clear with no floaters. cloudy means stop

ES

i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume

pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick, take that with a pinch of salt
