#reconstitution 2026-06-30
- noct.titrate — anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 1mg on a round unit mark 19:33
- noct.titrate — pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month 19:50
- dez_domains — unrelated but how long after reconstituting before its actually dissolved 5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose 20:36
- dez_domains — ok so dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month 20:46
aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler
10mg in 2ml is 5mg/ml. so 0.5mg is 0.1ml which is 10 units on a u100
is it worth buying a 3ml syringe for the diluent or is the insulin one fine
if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7
*Janoshik not the other one
yep 10 units
anyone worked out a recon volume that puts 1mg on a round unit mark
took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience
update on the earlier thing a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not
foam is bad
pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick
dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month
write the date on
30mg in 3ml is 10mg/ml, so 5mg is 50 units. half the barrel, feels like a lot but its right
swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back
do you draw up with the same pin you inject with
if i add 5ml to a 40mg vial what concentration am i actually at
while im here i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in
weigh it first
unrelated but gross powder mass is not net peptide. water and counterion are in that number
unrelated but how long after reconstituting before its actually dissolved
5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose
does benzyl alcohol matter if im finishing the vial in one go
too dilute imo
ok so dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month
sorry to jump in the last few units are a real loss. i accept it rather than tilting the vial and drawing air
temperature of the diluent does not matter. how fast you push it in does, your mileage will differ
i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve, take that with a pinch of salt
not sterile water
bac water
label the vial
anyone else find the 30mg vials harder to get fully dissolved than the small ones
quick one label the date too. you will not remember which vial is which by week 27
i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists, thats one data point
