Highlights from this day
  • VialBot — New independent result logged — QSC, lot F-1330, purity 97.4% (Janoshik). 21:55
  • night_pin — the single most repeated sentence in this channel and it still needs repeating 22:26
  • night_pin — weekly weigh-in, same scale, same time of day 22:39
  • first_month_fi — that is way more useful than the trial to be honest 22:42

did the STEP 4 withdrawal arm show what i think it showed

slower worked better

how long did the first 14kg take for people at the low doses
changed my mind on the four week rule, i think it depends entirely on how the current dose feels

SELECT wasnt weight

steady state takes weeks

FM

the thing everyone says about regain when you stop. is that from an actual trial or is it vibes

Cited study
STEP 4 — effect of continued vs withdrawn semaglutide 2.4 mg on weight maintenance
JAMA · 2021
20 week run-in to 2.4, then randomised to continue or switch to placebo

everyone titrated up for 20 weeks, then half kept going and half were switched to placebo without knowing

the continuers kept losing. the switched group went back up most of the way

NP

and crucially they were still doing the lifestyle arm. the diet counselling did not save them

BS

no. it means it works while its in you, like basically every chronic condition drug

nobody says a blood pressure tablet failed because your BP went up when you stopped taking it

NP

the single most repeated sentence in this channel and it still needs repeating

NF

yes. thats a real thing and STEP 4 doesnt say otherwise. it says the average person on the average taper regains

NP

my own numbers if it helps. i came off deliberately over 9 weeks after 16 months

weekly weigh-in, same scale, same time of day

wk 0 98.2 last 2.4 dose
wk 2 98.0
wk 4 98.9
wk 6 99.8
wk 8 101.1
wk 10 102.4
wk 12 102.9
wk 16 104.6
wk 20 104.1
wk 24 103.8 <- flattened here, roughly 6kg back of 24 lost
BS

the shape matters though. flat for a month then a steady climb then a plateau. thats what mine did too

the flat month is the half-life clearing, not you winning

NP

felt it around week 5. food noise came back before the weight did

which in hindsight was the actual signal and i ignored it for a month

VI

we started this place in 2023 partly because that gap — signal before scale — was not written down anywhere. keep logging it

BS

not cleanly, no. the trials randomise the stop. real life doesnt, and the reason you stopped probably predicts the outcome
