ok so a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence

ports do that

signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss

mine took 13 days

summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

i declare it as what it is at a low value. we do not discuss wording beyond that here

QH

is vat charged on the declared value or what they think it is worth

reship policies vary enormously. HJ honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

the parcel is the risk you accepted. that is worth remembering before it becomes a crisis

TF

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that, i could be wrong

TO

parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

DV

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them, i think

WW

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote, not advice obviously

order in winter

WW

tracking has been dark for 6 days, at what point do i worry

d0 label created
d2 accepted, origin
d4 departed origin
d6 in transit
d6-16 nothing at all
d17 arrived destination country
d19 customs cleared
d21 delivered

GC

nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat
