Highlights from this day
  • half_life_hal — the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote 21:08
  • hard_stop_hal — do you use the same address every time 22:06
  • adelaide_assay — 7 days to the Netherlands with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen 22:33
  • oli_orals — the parcel is the risk you accepted. that is worth remembering before it becomes a crisis, thats just me 22:40
  • plus_sixteen — follow up nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly, i think 22:48

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat

split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing

HL

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote

HL

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

OW

update from 22 months ago: Canada transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders

powder is robust

ask about reship

KM

is vat charged on the declared value or what they think it is worth

slightly off topic but i have lost 6 parcels in three years across a lot of orders. that is the actual rate for me, thats just me

no wording advice here

summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

KM

reship policies vary enormously. GL Biochem honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

CH

is it worth paying for a faster service or does customs eat the difference

winter shipping into a cold country risks freezing, which is a different problem from heat and gets discussed less

HS

cold pack arrived warm after 26 days, does it matter

HS

do you use the same address every time

d0 label created
d2 accepted, origin
d4 departed origin
d6 in transit
d6-16 nothing at all
d17 arrived destination country
d19 customs cleared
d21 delivered
CH

if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that

OO

does a signature requirement help or hurt
a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence

AA

7 days to the Netherlands with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen

thats normal transit

OO

i had a parcel marked returned that arrived eleven days later. it happens

TT

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that the vial cooked. lyophilised powder is robust

TT

anyone shipping into Canada in summer and what do you do about it
paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs

for the archive tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better
if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that

1

coming back after 3 months, has anything changed with Canada

handling fee is the killer
