ports do that
powder is robust
update from 4 months ago: Australia transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders, n of 1 obviously
tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time
the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote
got a seizure letter, what actually happens next
update on the earlier thing a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence
i have lost 6 parcels in three years across a lot of orders. that is the actual rate for me
signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss, ask me again in a month
tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time
update on the earlier thing a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that the vial cooked. lyophilised powder is robust
if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that
vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat
postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough, someone check my working
[edited]does a signature requirement help or hurt
ask about reship
reship policies vary enormously. SWB honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal
i declare it as what it is at a low value. we do not discuss wording beyond that here
follow up the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better
do you use the same address every time
is vat charged on the declared value or what they think it is worth
parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port
no wording advice here
has anyone had a parcel arrive after being marked as returned
[edited]postal not courier
handling fee is the killer
split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing, for what its worth
how many parcels have people lost in total
a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them
