Highlights from this day
  • triumph_watch — buy a thermometer. mine reads 3.1 on the door and two degrees lower at the back 20:50
  • auckland_aliquot — the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves, i think 21:34
  • reship_rita — i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door 21:55
  • cricket_or_footy — i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why 22:27
LO

freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway

TW

genuine question nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you what has and has not survived for us, your mileage will differ

buy a thermometer. mine reads 3.1 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

*PeptideMeter not the other one

for the archive for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

LO

coming back to this hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct, for what its worth

TW

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

genuine question reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

LO

unopened and in-use in the same place is fine. just keep the in-use one where you can reach it

LO

coming back after 18 months, is the pinned storage table still current

CN

power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well

AA

the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves, i think

update from 26 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door

🔥129🧪3

if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for

lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear

CN

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

AA

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

log it
