update on the earlier thing if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for

- cagri_curious — hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct 16:02
- cagri_curious — do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season… 16:26
- acetate_ash — the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves, someone check my working 17:20
- tam_logs — reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep 17:23
a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation, for what its worth
log it
two to eight
unrelated but i log the fridge temperature daily and the room has never let me forget it
hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct
slightly off topic but flying with vials, hand luggage or checked
do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place
the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in
*PeptideMeter not the other one
lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear, take that with a pinch of salt
for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume
coming back to this freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway
i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones
i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why
[edited]i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door
power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well
the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves, someone check my working
reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep
how do you keep it cold on a long drive in summer
the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in
i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine
not the door
nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you what has and has not survived for us
does the fridge in a hotel room count as a fridge
lyophilised at room temp for 12 days in transit, worried or not
i left it out overnight by accident, bin it or use it
the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted
parcel sat in a hot mailbox for 3 hours, is it dead
freezing reconstituted peptide is the one thing this channel has never agreed on
anyone had a vial visibly change after a warm transit
best travel setup for 12 days away with vials
right so buy a thermometer. mine reads 5.6 on the door and two degrees lower at the back
