do you log the fridge temperature or is that too far
a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that your vial cooked
does the amber vial thing matter or is it marketing
what temperature does a domestic fridge door actually swing to
quick one the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in
two to eight
do i need to worry about light exposure or is that overthinking
Testing queue: 2 submissions open, 11 awaiting dispatch.
a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation, ask me again in a month
is there a difference in stability between the compounds
flying with vials, hand luggage or checked
ok so the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves
i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine
[edited]genuine question lyophilised at room temp for 4 days in transit, worried or not
[edited]reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep
*PeptideMeter not the other one
not the door
freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway
how long is reconstituted actually good for at room temperature
power cut for 9 hours, fridge stayed shut, am i fine
hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct
if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for
i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why
coming back to this do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place
my fridge is running at 6.2, is that out of range
log it
i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones
gel packs
back of the fridge
does the fridge in a hotel room count as a fridge
how do you keep it cold on a long drive in summer
solution is not
buy a thermometer. mine reads 3.1 on the door and two degrees lower at the back
unrelated but does anyone freeze reconstituted vials or is that madness
unopened and in-use in the same place is fine. just keep the in-use one where you can reach it
parcel sat in a hot mailbox for 5 hours, is it dead
my fridge is 6.2
the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted
update on the earlier thing anyone tested a vial before and after a bad transit
update from 24 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety, ask me again in a month
how cold is too cold, can it actually freeze in a normal fridge
