if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for

OW

coming back to this i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

PN

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that your vial cooked

hand luggage

BS

two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

buy a thermometer. mine reads 4.8 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

anyone tested a vial before and after a bad transit

freeze debate again

log it

CC

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

BS

power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well

BS

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you what has and has not survived for us

i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine

FT

a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive, ymmv

update from 3 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

*PeptideMeter not the other one

for the archive light exposure matters much less than temperature for these. i still keep them in the carton

buy a thermometer
