Highlights from this day
  • assay_not_purity — i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist 22:39
  • retention_time — cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision 23:33
  • bpc_sceptic — ireland runs its own reimbursement system and as best i understood it a year ago the picture there was less generous than people expect 23:51

supply was upstream

❤️14⚠️4

border force stopped a parcel of mine and sent a letter, and that was the whole of it. no follow up and no knock at the door

*Janoshik not the other one

member reported tier 3 waits in england were all over the place, from nine months to nearly three years, as of about a year ago

⚠️1❤️1

slightly off topic but the seizure letters members have had here have been letters and nothing else, but that is our sample rather than a guarantee

i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist

the mhra publishes supply notices. whether your pharmacy has read them is an entirely separate matter

📉1

northern ireland sits under different arrangements from great britain and those have changed more than once, so do not treat anything i say about it as current

BR

update on the earlier thing is the picture in ireland completely separate on reimbursement

there was a two year limit in the nhs guidance i read. what happened at the end of it was not clear to me then and may be clearer now

ST

wales was reported in here as slower to get started and steadier once you were in, and that was second hand

reported by members, own currency, not comparable directly
  private clinic, UK      145 - 220
  statutory, DE 10 co-pay
  private script, DE      180 - 240
  pharmacy, PL 95 - 140
  pharmacy, SE 210 - 260

NA

the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me

the tier 3 referral needed my gp to actually make it, and that turned out to be harder than meeting the criteria

BS

how many pharmacies do people ring before giving up for the day

4👍3🔥1

ring more pharmacies

MP

update on the earlier thing nobody here can tell you what your gp will do. the variation between practices is the whole story in england

TA

scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait, n of 1 obviously

unrelated but the private quotes i collected last spring ran from about 130 to about 250 a month depending on dose, and that will have moved since

MP

driving never came up for me at all and i would ask a clinician rather than take my word on it

slightly off topic but i paid £94 a month at a private clinic in 2024 and the price went up twice while i was with them

BS

update from 19 months ago: my clinic price went up by $38 and the supply steadied in the same month

AN

northern ireland has two sets of rules doesnt it, how does that work in practice

NA

when i checked last year my local specialist service was quoting eighteen months to two years, and that was for a first appointment

RT

everything in this channel about pricing is a snapshot. read any figure here as the month somebody typed it, i think

SD

the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

RT

cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision

❤️8📈18

ireland is separate

SD

ask your gp
the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me

i would not repeat any of the nhs criteria as current fact, they were revised at least once since i last read them

off label and unlicensed get used interchangeably in here and they are different. off label is a licensed product used outside its licence

whats the cheapest legitimate private route people have found in the uk

ireland runs its own reimbursement system and as best i understood it a year ago the picture there was less generous than people expect
