VO

i was down 29 at month six and then nothing at all for eleven weeks. it moved again. the eleven weeks were not a failure

CP

week three nearly finished me and im at month 5 now, does anyone want the boring version
the win i did not expect was sleeping through the night. i had forgotten that was available

MM

14 down in 15 months and honestly the stairs were the bit that got me, not the scale, i have it written down somewhere

VO

ok so i want to say something in here but im worried about sounding like im showing off

CP

what non scale thing surprised you most

i was the one who nearly quit at week three and now i am the one saying hold, which i find funny

KF

a1c 6.9 to 5.4 over ten months. not diabetic on paper anymore and i still do not quite believe it

the boring version is the useful one. slow, uneventful, still going

Cited study

New England Journal of Medicine · 2021
68 weeks, semaglutide 2.4mg weekly against placebo, with lifestyle intervention in both arms.
TF

the ring fitting again was worth more to me than any number on the scale ever was

TF

update on the earlier thing i overclaimed early on in here, got gently corrected, and i deserved it

KF

is it weird that the clothes size mattered more to me than the number did

thats the win

VO

congratulations, genuinely. and thank you for putting the caveats in, most people do not bother

my knees stopped hurting around 4 down and i had assumed that was permanent damage

coming back after 24 months to say i kept it off, is that useful to anybody

TF

FLOW reported roughly what i got, which surprised me, i had assumed the trial people all did better

i keep a pair of jeans from 2015 in the wardrobe as a measuring device and it is the only measurement i trust

TF

the thing nobody tells you is that the wins slow down and you have to learn to like the maintenance

is it bad form to say i havent had a single side effect

size 22 to size 14 over about eighteen months. sizes are not consistent between shops so i only use the one shop
blood pressure went from 148 over 94 to 124 over 78 across about a year and my gp took me off one of the two tablets

ST

my milestone was tying my shoes sitting upright. it is not an endpoint in any trial

unrelated but went from stopping halfway up the stairs to carrying shopping up them without noticing, and that is the whole win
